Faculty of Nursing, Capital University at El-Tebbin General Hospital: A Nursing Campaign to Support Women’s Health and Promote Sustainable Development
From the heart of El-Tebbin General Hospital, and as part of Capital University’s efforts to support Egypt Vision 2030, third-year students from the Faculty of Nursing organized an extensive nursing and awareness campaign on “Postpartum Depression.” This initiative was held under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Afaf Salah Abdel Mohsen, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Dr. Zeinab Hussein Ali, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; with scientific and field supervision by Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Hassan Mohamady, Head of the Maternal and Newborn Health Nursing Department; and coordinated by Assistant Lecturer Omnia Ibrahim.
Believing that maternal health is a cornerstone in building a sustainable society, the students provided comprehensive educational sessions for mothers addressing both physical and psychological health. This initiative represents a practical step toward achieving the Sustainable Development Goals by promoting comprehensive healthcare and ensuring the well-being of mothers and their children.
The students successfully contributed to reducing the knowledge gap regarding psychological disorders associated with childbirth, reaffirming the vital role of nursing as a fundamental pillar in building a healthy society that begins with caring for the family as the first building block of development.
