In line with the role of the Faculty of Nursing – Helwan University in promoting community health awareness, the Department of Maternal and Neonatal Health Nursing organized an awareness convoy for mothers at El-Tebbin Central Hospital. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Afaf Salah Abdel Mohsen, Acting Dean of the Faculty, led by Prof. Zeinab Hussein Ali, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and supervised by Prof. Shaimaa Hassan Mohamady, Head of the Department.
The convoy focused on raising awareness of the importance of breastfeeding and its benefits for both maternal and child health, highlighting its role in strengthening natural immunity and reducing disease incidence. It also provided practical guidance on proper health practices during the breastfeeding period.
The activity was supervised by Dr. Omnia Ibrahim Helal and witnessed active participation from third-year students, reflecting the Faculty’s commitment to integrating students into community-based activities that enhance their skills and strengthen their role in spreading health awareness.
This initiative comes within the framework of the Faculty’s commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:

Goal 4: Quality Education, through supporting student training in community engagement and hands-on field experience.

The convoy directly contributed to raising health awareness among mothers and activating the role of students in community service, reflecting the ongoing commitment of the Faculty of Nursing – Helwan University to its mission of supporting public health and building a more informed and healthier society.
