The Department of Maternal and Neonatal Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, Capital University, Holds its 10th Scientific Conference
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Sayed Qandil, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Dahab, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Afaf Salah Abdel Mohsen, Acting Dean of the Faculty and Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, the 10th Scientific Conference titled "Challenges and Innovations in Maternity Care: Towards Safe and Sustainable Women's Health" was organized on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at the Dr. Aisha Awad Hall.
The conference was chaired by Prof. Dr. Shaimaa Hassan Mohamed, with participation from Prof. Dr. Zaynab Hussein Ali, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Dr. Lamia Keshk, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs. The event was attended by a group of distinguished professors, experts, and specialists in the fields of nursing, maternal and neonatal health from the Faculty of Medicine at Ain Shams University, Capital University, the Faculty of Nursing at Zagazig University, Badr University, and Bahya Hospital.
The conference discussed a number of important scientific topics, including the current challenges facing maternity care, the latest innovations and evidence-based nursing practices, all of which contribute to improving healthcare quality, enhancing the safety of mothers and infants, and supporting the sustainability of women’s health services.
Participants emphasized the vital role of nursing in the development of maternity care services and the need for integration between scientific research and practical application, in alignment with the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030 for improving quality of life and enhancing women's health.
At the conclusion of the conference, participants reiterated the importance of continuing to organize such scientific events that contribute to knowledge exchange, support scientific research, and enhance academic and professional standards in the field of maternal and neonatal nursing.
