The Community Health Nursing Department organized a specialized awareness campaign on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, titled “The Risks of E-Cigarettes on Individuals and Society”, held in the faculty courtyard within the university campus. This initiative comes as part of the faculty’s ongoing role in promoting health awareness and strengthening preventive concepts among students.
The event witnessed distinguished participation from fourth-year students from groups (4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Amani Mohamed Saad, Head of the Community Health Nursing Department; Prof. Dr. Zainab Hussein Ali, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Assistant Lecturer Elham Shokry, a faculty member in the department.
The activities began in the morning with the registration of 51 male and female students, followed by the launch of the seminar at 10:15 a.m. A comprehensive scientific presentation was delivered using PowerPoint, supported by illustrative images to explain the health risks and effects of e-cigarette smoking.
In addition, preliminary health screenings were conducted, including blood pressure and blood glucose measurements for attendees as part of preventive measures. Educational pamphlets were also distributed to enhance participants’ health awareness.
The campaign received positive engagement from students, with an open discussion session that allowed for the exchange of ideas and suggestions regarding future awareness activities. The event concluded at midday with a survey conducted to assess participants’ benefit, the results of which reflected high satisfaction and emphasized the importance of continuing such initiatives within the faculty.
