Episode 2: Hypertension (The Silent Killer)
🤔 Did you know that high blood pressure can exist for years without causing any noticeable symptoms, yet it may silently damage the heart, brain, kidneys, and blood vessels?
That is why it is often called "The Silent Killer."
🔹 What Is Blood Pressure?
Blood pressure is the force exerted by circulating blood against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps blood throughout the body.
Blood pressure is considered high when its readings remain consistently above the normal range.
⚠️ Why Is It Called the Silent Killer?
Because many people with hypertension experience no symptoms at all, and the condition may only be discovered during a routine health check-up or after complications occur.
🚨 Risk Factors for High Blood Pressure
🔸 Excessive salt intake.
🔸 Overweight and obesity.
🔸 Physical inactivity.
🔸 Smoking.
🔸 Chronic stress and anxiety.
🔸 Family history of hypertension.
🔸 Advancing age.
⚠️ Possible Symptoms in Some Cases
✔️ Frequent headaches.
✔️ Dizziness.
✔️ Blurred vision.
✔️ Shortness of breath.
✔️ Occasional nosebleeds.
❗ However, remember that the absence of symptoms does not mean the absence of disease.
🚨 Potential Complications of Hypertension
If left uncontrolled, high blood pressure may lead to:
🔴 Heart disease and heart failure.
🔴 Stroke.
🔴 Kidney failure.
